Southeast Alaska Hydrophone Stream

We are currently sailing SE Alaska’s Inside Passage studying the behavior of humpback whales that feed here over the summer months. Our focus is on exploring their acoustic interactions—call vocalizations, song, and acoustic signals to which they might attend. A set of hydrophones are deployed off our vessel. This page webcasts a live stream of their ocean acoustic environment.
